Jacaranda Carpets
Our mission has always been to create interesting and unusual carpets and rugs. As our portfolio has grown, we have moved increasingly towards hand-made floorcoverings, in natural (often undyed) colours.
Our textures are beautiful, unusual, tactile, charming and 'characterful', because they are hand-loomed.
Our colour bank receives compliments such as "you have just the right shades and tones" or "we love the naturalness of your colours". This is because many are natural undyed wool or leather. Alternatively we dye natural products such as pure wool or silk.
At Jacaranda Carpets we try hard to do our bit for the environment. The traditional, wooden looms are hand-operated, so need no electricity. All colours labelled natural, are created by carefully grading the wool by colour, eliminating damaging dyes from the production process. The carpets are latex backed by hand.
However these same characteristics so highly valued by many, do not appeal to all.
Our labour intensive processes actually create our 'characterful' textures and wonderful natural colours, however they cannot and do not set out to mirror the uniformity of the carpets in Jacaranda's Fine Loomed collections.
At Jacaranda we take quality control very seriously, and each roll and rug is checked and rechecked to make sure that it falls within industry tolerances. However slight variations in colour and weave are inevitable and are part of their 'hand-made' character rather than faults.
If you need a perfect colour match then please tell us to reserve stock from the same batch. You can request a cutting from that batch; we will happily oblige.
